4,590 people rocked out to the songs of Canadian band Loverboy, who played at the Memorial Gardens on this day, May 13th, in 1982. Riding high off of their recent Juno Awards sweep, the band played in the Sault as part of their Get Lucky tour. Tickets for the show cost $10.50 a piece and sold out two days before the concert.

After a well received opening set by Bryan Adams, Loverboy lead guitarist opened the show by telling his audience "I think it's time we turn you people loose!" The concert culminated in a band-lead screaming contest and a "superior" rendition of Everybody's Working for the Weekend.
