I've often wondered what makes a community somewhere people want to live.

What encourages people to stay in a city or town instead of moving away?

What attracts people to move to a city or town versus another city or town?

One thing that's important to most people is arts and culture.

The organizers of those shows often don't have much money to advertise, so help from local media can often make or break a show.

Concert goers can't go to every show - they are often picky with what they like.

This is where the media can and should step in - to keep people in the loop with what's happening so they can choose if they want to attend.

Sometimes we will go in depth with an artist - other times they will send us a news release and we will run that with supplied photos.

Having only moved here in October, I feel like I've just scratched the surface on the arts and culture scene here.
