I spoke with Gregor Thimmig, a Sault paramedic pleased that there are plans for a Canadian Paramedic Monument to be erected in Ottawa. We know these paramedics are very busy and do an incredible job but it was interesting, to say the least, to hear what they deal with, the things they see and how unpleasant memories stay with them and how they struggle with those memories. They deserve a monument to honour those paramedics who have fallen in the line of duty. And they deserve every dollar they make.
